Bread Company

To
Whom It May Concern:
Most
companies get better with time. They learn to become more efficient and
find better ways of doing things
For
nearly 10 years, Atlanta Bread Company's formula of great variety and
customer service seems to be working. Atlanta Bread has grown to nearly
140 locations in 24 states with 60 more locations scheduled to open by
year's end, and recently, we were named one of the top 50
"Taste-Makers" by Nation's Restaurant News.
While
these accolades and accomplishments are impressive, we haven't taken it
as a sign that our work is done. In keeping with our commitment to the
customer and to providing the highest-quality dining experience, we
feel there is always room for improvement. Guests already know they can
walk into any Atlanta Bread Company and find freshly baked,
European-style breads, delicious soups and salads, and made-to-order sandwiches
served by friendly staff in a clean, relaxed environment.
These
are the differences you can see. But there many things Atlanta Bread
Company does every day behind- the-scenes to ensure the same high
quality standards.
One
such improvement we made recently is adding Apyron's patented Ice Wand
technology. The Ice Wand allows us to go far beyond the standard food
service sanitation requirements to create an even safer, cleaner,
beverage preparation area with better tasting ice cubes.
We
made the decisions to install the product in all of our restaurants
after careful review of extensive technical and field trial data
generated by Apyron scientists. We also conducted field trials in
several Atlanta Bread locations prior to company-wide implementation of
the technology.
In
the past, we had to spend three to five hours cleaning each machine
every two months. Since installing the Ice Wand, our need to manually
clean the machine has been completely eradicated. We expect now that
only minimal maintenance one to two times a year will be necessary as
opposed to more frequent extensive maintenance, which will save us
significant time and money.
What
this means for our customer is cleaner, fresher ice and enhanced
beverage quality. We firmly believe in the quality of Apyron's products
and the strength of the company's technology platform. We have already
noticed the difference.

Dear Brian:
I received an Ice Wand at the end of August 2002 to test in one of my
ice machines in Georgetown, Texas. I have a maintenance contract that
cleans and services my ice machines on a quarterly basis. Even with the
quarterly service and cleaning, I needed to manually clean the ice
machine between each service, about every 6 weeks. After the quarterly
service in August, I placed the Ice Wand in the sump and checked it
after a month. The Ice Wand was working as promised. I checked it again
after two months and it was continuing to control the slime. I checked
it the final time, at three months, and the Ice Wand was working great.
At the end of the test, I called Apyron and placed an order for 36 Ice
Wand’s, a year supply for each of my nine Subway stores.
Not only can I say I offer a higher quality beverage service to my
customers, I do not have the headache of manually cleaning nine ice
machines. With the Ice Wand installed, I have more time to focus on my
business and customers. I would recommend the Ice Wand to anybody who
is concerned about saving money, time, and adding peace of mind to
their beverage service.
Sincerely,
David

Bitter
End Restaurant
4651 Woodstock Road Suite 305

To Whom It May Concern:
The Bitter End Restaurant prides itself on serving nothing but the best
Seafood and Steaks in the greater Atlanta area. As a member of Atlantic
Restaurant Enterprises LTD., quality and satisfaction of our guests are
primary goals.
Recently,
we were introduced to the ICE WAND, a new product from Apyron
Technologies, Inc. This product, after placed in the reservoir of our
ice machine, has virtually eliminated the mold and slime always present
due to air and water born bacteria. Thus, it has eliminated the constant
need to clean our machine on a monthly basis. The service to our ice
machine is now reduced to checking when the ICE WAND needs to he
replaced; this is on an approximate three-month basis. Even our guests
regularly comment about our clearer and much better tasting ice.
The
ICE WAND has provided cleaner and safer beverage service for our
guests, reduced our maintenance costs, and has been instrumental in
achieving our primary goals of quality and guest satisfaction.
If
you haven't tried the ICE WAND in your ice machines you should consider
a field trial in your specific situation. If it can function
effectively in our 15-year-old ice machine, just imagine what it can do
for yours.
Very
truly yours,
Kevin M. Young

Subject:
McDonald’s Store Test-Ice Wand-Apyron Technologies, Inc.
On
April 22, 2002, the Ice Wand™ product, manufactured by Apyron
Technologies, Inc., was installed in a Manitowoc 1200# ice machine
located in my store. Prior to installation, the cuber, trough, and
plumbing were cleaned completely to remove the build up of mold and
slime.
On
August 29th, the ice machine was reviewed at the end of the test. Mold
and slime were not present in any areas in and around the enclosing
holding bin, water trough, plumbing, tubing, or cuber. Maintenance
personnel reported no cleaning of enclosed area occurred during the
120-test period. The ice cubes appeared to be much clearer.
Normal
maintenance in the store includes routinely cleaning the ice machine
and the benefit of reduced man-hours to maintain sanitary conditions is
an obvious out-of-pocket cost savings to my operation. The Ice Wand™ is
certainly on track to insure overall sanitary conditions, eliminate
potential machine failure and reduce operating costs in my store.

To Whom It May Concern:
I was
first introduced to the Ice Wand at the International Hotel/Motel &
Restaurant show in November 2002. Upon hearing the technical
explanation of the Ice Wand, I decided to try it. I purchased two Ice
Wand’s to test at the Comfort Inn in Atlantic City.
Two of my Scotsman ice machines were having significant slime problems.
My maintenance engineer had to clean and sanitize both machines
frequently. One of the machines was twelve years old and the other was
six years old. The twelve-year-old ice machine had the worst slime
problem. My engineer decided to test the Ice Wand in this machine.
(This machine was not available for public ice consumption during this
period.) The directions stated that the ice machine needed to be
cleaned prior to installing the Ice Wand. My engineer did not clean the
ice machine before installing the Ice Wand. After a few days, the slime
that had built up was flaking off into the bin and trough areas. Using
a hose, he washed off the inside of the machine and ran two ice cycles.
The slime was eliminated in all splash areas. I personally recommend
following the directions, but was amazed at the Ice Wand’s ability to
eradicate the existing slime.
Three months later, Apyron called and asked how the Ice Wand’s were
working. My maintenance engineer told me the trough area, the area that
seemed to have the most slime, was “sparkling clean,” and the water
was, “very clear.” I have to admit, my engineer and I were both very
skeptical of the Ice Wand claims of slime control. We were impressed.
I have since ordered nine more Ice Wand’s, one for each ice machine in
my four hotels. I anticipate another order in three months. More
importantly, my maintenance engineer is much happier not having to
manually clean ice machines anymore.
